what we score

One match. Eight measures. 36 points.

These eight measures come from Vedic astrology — the oldest school of astrology still in daily use, where every match is scored out of 36 before a marriage is agreed. It’s trusted for one simple reason: it doesn’t ask your opinion. Real birth charts, real math — the same two birthdays give the same score, every single time.

Nobody scores 36. Nobody.

Thirty-six is the ceiling — the most the system can possibly give — and almost no real couple ever reaches it. That’s not a flaw; it’s the point. Most strong, lasting matches land somewhere in the mid-20s to low-30s, and a score in that range isn’t a consolation prize — it’s what a genuinely good match actually looks like.

under 18the tradition says think twice — the friction outweighs the flow.
18 – 24a workable match: real potential, with real effort on the rough spots.
25 – 32a strong match — most of it flows, and the friction is manageable.
33 – 36exceptional, and rare enough you’ll likely never see it.

Anyone promising you a perfect match is selling you a mirror. A real score is honest — where it flows, where it rubs, and what to do about it. That’s worth more than perfect.

the method

What actually happens in a compatibility reading.

A compatibility reading compares two real birth charts — not just your star signs. Your birth chart is a snapshot of where the Sun, Moon and every planet sat overhead at the exact minute and place you were born. Everyone’s is different. To read how two people fit, we build both charts and lay one against the other, measuring how the placements meet.

The scoring comes from a system in Vedic astrology called Guna Milan (also written Ashtakoot, or Kundli matching). For centuries in India, families have used it to weigh a match before a marriage, and it’s still used the same way today. It breaks compatibility into eight areas worth 36 points in total — each one testing a different layer of how two people actually work together.

Most of those eight areas are read from the Moon and its nakshatra — the lunar mansion the Moon was sitting in — in each of your charts. In this tradition the Moon carries the emotional mind: the part of you that shares a home, a bed and a life with someone. That’s why a real reading looks past your birthday to the finer detail of where your Moon truly was.

From there, each of the eight measures checks one honest thing about the two of you: your temperaments, who holds the power, whether luck runs with you or tests you, physical and sexual chemistry, how your minds and hearts are wired, whether the pairing steadies or strains over time, and the deeper current pulling you together. Added up, they become your score out of 36.

Before you ever see a number, we run the same two charts through a second school of astrology and compare the results. If the two systems disagree sharply on something, we tell you — we don’t bury it. Every planetary position is calculated to Swiss-ephemeris precision, the same astronomical data observatories use, from each person’s date, time and city of birth.

The result isn’t a verdict on whether you should be together. It’s an honest map of where a relationship flows easily and where it takes work — and because it’s real math on real charts, the same two birthdays give the same score, every single time.
